Digital Marketing Associate, Sci Fi & Fantasy
Open Road Media is seeking a full-time Associate Manager in the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:•Assisting with, crafting, and executing marketing plans that include promotional placement, social media, advertising, and publicity elements.•Running publicity campaigns and outreach efforts on an ongoing basis for authors, specific titles, and campaigns. •Writing featured text, highlighting assets, and generating original content for the Open Road Media website, blog and social media channels.•Writing copy for press releases, advertisements, retailers, blog posts, and other outreach.•Engaging with and contributing to social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, and Tumblr on behalf of our authors and Open Road Media.•Keep abreast of emerging technologies and communities in social media and report back to marketing team on findings•Working directly with authors, estates, partners, vendors, and freelancers to obtain and deliver marketing and publicity content as needed•Working with the interactive producer and marketing team on department initiatives, including videoSkills required:•Three to five years experience in the publishing field, preferably in marketing, advertising/promotions, or publicity•Online experience or an equivalent facility with new media and social networking•Strong writing background •Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred•Initiative and desire to work successfully in a fast-paced, small team environment, self-directing day-to-day activities and prioritization; strong attention to detail, with an ability to follow-up on items to ensure tight timelines and releases are met; ?•An interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy genres is a plusLocation: ?New York, NYThis is a full-time exempt position.
