The Publicity Manager is responsible for carrying out publicity and public relations activities for the Press and for coordinating the Press's awards program. Reports to the marketing director. Developing media lists and cultivating contacts in print, broadcast, and electronic media. Responsible for maintaining strong relationships with reviewers, producers, and all other key contacts necessary for wide-ranging local, national, and international publicity. Coordinates publicity in print--newspapers, magazines, scholarly and popular journals--and in all electronic media, including commercial and public radio, television, and the Internet. Researching and generating review-lists for each book. Writing press releases and preparing press kits; ordering bound galleys and page proof. Organizing interviews, tours, or other special events. Administering awards program. Work to enhance Penn Press profile within the University community.

Bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in publishing or publicity. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills essential.
