We are the Textbooks Rentals technology team and are expanding a new platform to enable a brand new business with exciting growth. As a developer and a founding member of this technology team you will be designing new systems, writing new V1 code, building an awesome customer experience, implementing workflows for real-world processes, and having a lot of fun while doing all this.

You will be challenged to:

Design, develop, build, implement, test, document, deploy, operate, analyze, and deliver large-scale, multi-threaded, high-throughput, highly reliable, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services with multiple interacting processes using Object Oriented design, Java, Perl, C++, and distributed programming.

Evaluate and select platform technologies and 3rd party libraries, define interfaces, and integrate multiple components of a larger system. Analyze business and functional requirements, and translate requirements into technical specifications for robust, scalable, supportable solutions that work well within the distributed systems architecture at Amazon.

Oversee the deployment and troubleshooting of live systems to verify or restore health. Recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards, and engineering best practices and tools. Will have to work in a fully entrepreneurial environment and be a self-starter and learner.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Proficient in modern programming languages such as Java and C++
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Experience shipping one or more customer facing, internet scale applications: client-server programming and internet protocols should all be second nature

  • Proven track record of building highly trafficked experiences e.g. websites, Android applications, iOS applications, etc.
