Role Summary/Purpose: Oxygen, is looking for a dynamic media researcher in this newly created primary/qualitative position. Oxygen is one of cables hottest properties, more than doubling its prime audience over the past 4 years--outpacing virtually all other cable entertainment networks. Ideal applicants will be strategic thinkers & insights producers, will possess relevant experience, a passion for media research, & enthusiasm for the unscripted cable pop culture space and with pop culture in general. Essential Responsibilities: Assist team with designing/testing/analyzing qualitative and quantitative research on network programs, brands, consumers, and integrated advertisers. Analyze new, proprietary data to produce insights that can drive growth for all of Oxygens media platforms from TV to online, to mobile, to social. Create reports and presentations articulating the dynamics of the Oxygen audience, its composition and behaviors, as well as those of compe
ting networks and programs. Occasionally present work and contribute to network plans in roundtable discussions with business decision makers. Collaborate in creating research to support Oxygen management, programming & development, press & publicity, marketing & finance. Keep up with the trends in the industry to assist Oxygen in staying ahead of the curve. Attend regular meetings to keep up with the happenings at the network.

Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Strong MS PowerPoint, Excel & Word skills required.

Desired Characteristics: Media research background in broadcast or cable network, agency or supplier. Passion for TV and knowledge of cable and digital landscape a plus as is experience in qualitative and quantitative research. Strong proofreading and presentation skills a must. Candidates must be able to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative research with client needs in mind. Good communication skills necessary, both oral and written. Candidates must be proactive thinkers who can handle multiple projects at once. Must be able to meet tight deadlines. Must be able to translate data into insights. Must be comfortable working with executives at all levels, as well as outside vendors. Must be a big-picture thinker, while not losing sight of the detail. Ability to utilize multiple research tools in order to build detailed analyses for internal clients.
