FierceMarkets, a fast-growing, highly profitable, B2B digital media company, seeks a seasoned professional to lead a team of two in the execution and success of our content marketing and events programs.

Events and content marketing are key areas of growth for FierceMarkets. Fierce Markets produces a number of events in the US and Europe designed to educate attendees and provide in-person marketing opportunities for sponsors. FierceMarkets’ content marketing business includes ebooks, surveys, newsletters and web sites which are designed to provide engaging business information to readers and to provide brand visibility and sales leads for advertisers. Content marketing products can be editorial or built on a custom basis for Fierce advertisers.

As a leader of the Content Marketing and Events team, you will ensure that your lines of business are well-executed and profitable.

By collaborating with publishers, you will find opportunities for product development that serve FierceMarkets’ advertisers and readers and help grow revenue and profits in your lines of business. Your team is an extension of our clients' marketing teams, and this role will lead the team in its efforts to deliver measurable results and client satisfaction that fuels repeat business and growth. This is a hands-on position. In addition to providing leadership, the Manager will share in the execution of projects.

The Events and Custom Products Manager will report to the VP of Media Operations but will also work closely with the VP of Sales and publishers and be a contributor to the development of new offerings, tools and solutions.

Some travel is required for this position: 8 to 10 events per year with 1-3 days on site.

Team leadership responsibilities:

* Create and maintain an atmosphere of openness and positive communication across the team
* Maintain quality standards across all active campaigns
* Work with team members to ensure that events and custom programs executed in a timely fashion with a high level of quality and that advertiser marketing goals are attained
* Mentor team members on problem solving techniques
* Work with publishers to plan events and ensure deliverables can be executed
* Review sales contracts to ensure promised goals are attainable
* Responsible for talent acquisition and supervise new-hire training
* Work with each team member to grow their skills and develop areas of expertise
* Provide regular feedback to sales, publishers, and management on campaign pacing and results
* Provide month-end reports to accounting on completed campaigns and their success against goals

Ideal candidate:

* 5-7 years’ experience in custom publishing and/or events management
* Experience managing a team is a plus
* Experience in online marketing is a plus
* Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects
* Strong commitment to customer service
* Commitment to creating a workplace that’s fun for team members
* Ability to listen, adapt, and think quickly on your feet
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Proven track record of outstanding achievement
