The Email Marketing & Deliverability Analyst is responsible for maintaining email best practices to support overall email performance for FierceMarkets. This role is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, optimizing, and supporting email deliverability, email processes, and email performance for a high-volume email system. Successful candidates will be email junkies, data nerds, possess an analytical mindset, have the ability to interpret basic technical requirements, and have a positive, can-do attitude.


•Monitor email performance across publications, including newsletters, lifecycle engagement programs, and client blasts
•Have a thorough understanding of email best practices and e-marketing strategy to ensure email messages are properly constructed to meet industry best practices.
•Study and share findings on the life cycle of the subscriber and subscriber demographics, including activities and engagement levels as they pertain to email opens, clicks, opt-outs and bounces
•Analyze open rates to share findings/results with internal teams, and offer suggestions for improvements
•Alongside Audience Development, Marketing Solutions, Editorial and IT teams, identify and implement AB/Multivariate testing for email campaigns and list building practices
•Collaborate with Audience Development on lifecycle engagement strategy and marketing automation, including onboarding, drip, reactivation, and list hygiene.
•Conduct frequent research and share information with internal departments at FierceMarkets on email marketing best practices, email deliverability, and optimization techniques
•Own the relationship with our ESP (Silverpop)
•Work with external ISPs and ESPs, including enterprise corporate domains, to remove any spam blocks and to ultimately achieve whitelisting with them and alleviate throttling placed on email, and monitor and interpret sender reputation and deliverability metrics
•Monitor and manage direct abuse complaints as these come up.
•Utilize internal database and third party sources to improve accuracy of subscriber demographics
•Take on additional projects as assigned, to assist the Audience Development, Marketing Solutions or Sales teams on an as-needed basis


We’re looking for someone who is able to adapt to a variety of demands and has a desire to hone existing skills as well as develop new skillsets as needs arise.
•Minimum 3 years’ experience in Internet/email marketing for companies with high volume of email sends
•Thorough understanding of email best practices
•Working knowledge of the email delivery ecosystem, and preferably direct experience working with email receivers and ISPs, and counseling on deliverability best practices
•Thorough understanding of deliverability best practices, including design specifics, spam triggers, whitelisting/blacklisting, and third party services
•Strong background in analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, and/or R
•Proficiency in HTML
•Understanding of CAN-SPAM
•Strong teamwork skills and proven experience negotiating with multiple levels of stakeholders to effectively prioritize communication initiatives
•Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
•Experience with Silverpop is a plus
