Washingtonian has an immediate opening for a marketing designer and is seeking a motivated, knowledgeable, and hard-working candidate. The designer in this position will work with members of the marketing and events department, as well as the advertising department to produce a range of graphic design projects.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

- Developing print and digital designs/projects for various departments
- Conceptualizing and executing custom branding for over 20 special events per year
- Creating monthly house-advertisements for Washingtonian Magazine and banner ads on
- Exercising creative control over advertising department’s direct-mail efforts
- Hiring outside vendors, balancing quality and budget

The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and will possess good verbal and written communication skills. All design work will be completed in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Knowledge and experience with animated ads and web design is preferred but not required. Applicants should be prepared to attend an in-person interview and present a portfolio.
