GOVERNING Magazine is currently seeking an Associate Publisher to join our team and help to expand our Health & Human Services and Workforce division.

As an Associate Publisher you will be responsible for sales of print and digital media, event sponsorships and research products within the Health & Human Services and Workforce division.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

•Managing sales team focused on the above verticals, including:

oRun weekly sales team call
oAssist and oversee RFP and proposal process, pricing and Presentation materials/format
oClient content strategy: editorial alignment, positioning, packaging
oManage sales activity
oRevenue
oTotal revenue and by product
oTerritory strategy: how to manage clients at various levels of engagement
oSalesForce: tracking pipelines, revenue, calls, visits, emails and ensuring all information is correct

•Managing sales with GOVERNING HHS and Workforce clients; ongoing and new business
•Leading the conferences/association relationships and partnerships that apply to the HHS and Workforce areas
•Communicating with the editorial beat lead on HHS and Workforce content and conveying that information, issues and trends to the sales team
•Coordinating with research as it relates to HHS and Workforce content for events and proposals, new and existing business and outreach
•Working with the events director on agendas and content for conferences and summits as it relates to the HHS and Workforce division
•Moderating HHS and Workforce sessions within state leadership events and on industry webinars
•Driving the marketing messages and circulation strategy around HHS and Workfroce to ensure this division has the information, data and materials needed to support the area



Qualifications:

•Prior sales experience
•Excellent communication skills
•Interest in the subject matter—desire to be a subject matter expert for the benefit of both the private and public sector clients
•Ability to lead a team and meet sales goals
•Proficiency with Salesforce (in-house training available)
