We are seeking a smart, proactive, organized, upbeat, punctual, and reliable junior designer/production artist/studio assistant with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). This is a promotable, career-track position.

The ideal candidate has one or more years of prior, paid, post-school design experience (required), takes great pride in their attention to detail (in other words, having a typo on your résumé or in your cover email is pretty much a deal breaker!), and has a solid knowledge of the following:

  2. Adobe CS5 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)

  3. HTML & CSS

  4. Correct and meticulous print production practices

  5. An understanding of responsive web design (preferred)

In priority order, the responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):

  1. Revisions to projects in progress (both print and digital) and preparation of final artwork for delivery to clients and their vendors

  2. Proofreading and minor copywriting

  3. Participation in concept development and execution of same

  4. Client contact (receiving feedback on projects/communicating that feedback internally)

  5. Assisting with, and eventually taking ownership of, periodic updates to our portfolio website, blog, and social media channels

  6. Assisting in smooth running of studio – including helping to prepare for meetings with potential new clients, maintaining a sample file, participating in managing our workflow, prospecting for new business contacts, and keeping track of/ordering supplies

  7. General office-related tasks (light phones, filing, trafficking artwork, meeting/travel planning, etc.)

Interested candidates should first view our website to get a feel for the work we produce. Following that, please send a personalized cover letter, a current résumé, and links to relevant samples of your work.

We offer partially-reimbursed health benefits after a probationary period.

No recruiters and no phone calls, please.
