One of the most iconic brands in celebrity news and gossip is on the hunt for a new Digital Editor. This one’s a healthy mix of digital content strategy, management of breaking and ongoing news, and audience development. You’ll also still get to write (so hopefully that’s still important to you). The Hired Gun who scores this role has a gut for gossip and a vibe for viral.

Nitty Gritty
We want a hot shot to take this site to its deserved height. Already a daily staple, we need your moxie and know-how to truly bedazzle it. You’ll be putting a fresh POV and spin on this legendary property. You must have voice, tone, and style to succeed here. You’ll be driving the overall digital presence for this recognizable brand, including sourcing and assigning stories to your team, editing their work, and slinging pithy headlines that still pack a zing from an SEO perspective.

You’ll also be delivering juicy content in the form of images, and slideshows. An understanding of analytics is also required, as this is a heavily analytics-driven shop. You’re going to be expected to have data to back up your editorial decisions.

No matter who you are, if you’ve spent several years in editorial at a celebrity-driven pop culture or gossip site, and you have your finger on the pulse of what’s about to start trending, you should probably throw your hat in the ring. Ideally, you’ve broken your share of stories and have some great exclusives in your portfolio, because we’ll be asking you to walk through them.

You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and can keep your writing staff delivering quality copy with a distinctive voice day after day after day. Well actually, night after night after night.

You’ve got a firm grasp of digital best practices, and can deploy a slideshow or a video for maximum effect where needed. You’re also gifted when it comes to analytics; you love to see what’s getting read and then have the writers produce more of what people love.

Social media savvy goes without saying. You can use it to source content and secure interviews, but you also know how to use it to engage your readers and drive the conversation.

Finally, if you’re well-versed in audience development strategies from social to content partnerships and beyond, that’s even better.
