We are seeking a Production Artist to join our San Francisco team.The ideal candidates will be responsible for developing mechanical files accurately and efficiently for print and some digital projects as well as helping to manage the day-to-day studio workload. We are looking for a creative problem-solver able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
Work directly with the project management department to forecast daily and short-term studio workload, troubleshoot layout to mechanical execution, and ensure that deadlines are maintained and workload is managed efficiently. Build print-ready mechanicals for a wide variety of mediums, i.e. magazines, newspaper, collateral, direct mail, out-of-home and large format units, packaging, and specialty print items, etc. Conduct pre-flight and technical integrity checks on all files originating from agency studio, including final review of file specifications prior to release. Interact and coordinate with print production managers to ensure project goals, details and deadlines are met. Prioritize projects and deadlines as needed. Monitor and maintenance of files, font libraries, and image collections on studio file servers and archives. Hands-on comp/prototype and presentation material assembly and execution. Provide studio support to all agency departments.Skills nice to have, but not required: Experience with Dreamweaver / HTML / Flash.
Degree in Graphic Design with 3+ years experience as a Production Artist in an advertising agency setting. Advanced/Expert in Adobe Creative Suite in a Mac Environment Ability to work with precision under rigorous deadlines, and extended daily and weekend schedules when necessary. Advanced knowledge of pre-flighting a file (CMYK, BW, effective resolution, etc...) Posses an outstanding level of production ability; ability to take an approved master creative composition and lay it out into various sizes and formats while keeping the original intent of the approved creative intact. Strong communication skills with the ability to guide employees in other departments toward a better understanding of the production process.
