The Public Relations Manager will play a key role in creating and implementing integrated traditional and social communications programs that will help drive brand awareness, thought leadership and consumer preference for EILEEN FISHER, Inc. This candidate will report to the Public Relations and Social Media Director and contribute to EILEEN FISHER’s earned media strategy by working closely with the team and PR agency partners (US and Global). This individual will collaborate with communication, marketing, advertising and web leaders regularly to support an integrated approach.

The Public Relations Manager must have an experienced strategic, creative communications acumen, and operational (manage multiple projects) expertise to ensure PR is a driver of overall campaigns, and optimizes resources and market impact. A key success factor to this role is the ability to achieve communications objectives through traditional and social media channels.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

•Partner with agency to develop integrated media relations programs aligned with Advertising and Marketing initiatives, goals, vision and mission.
•Provide direction, feedback and leadership necessary to ensure we receive maximum value from agency resources, while also managing those resources responsibly.
•Ensure the agency has clear, consistent strategic goals and the appropriate level of business knowledge/context to deliver maximum results.
•Offer creative input/feedback to agency before plans are presented internally, to help shape recommendations as necessary.
•Establish early inclusion of PR agency in planning conversations.

•The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with fashion, design, lifestyle, and business media across, print, digital & broadcast platforms and provide ongoing counsel and media landscape insight to the function.

•Act as key partner to the director in the day to day management of the department, this includes: Sample distribution, budget management, industry partnerships, PR analysis reports, distribution of key materials to external partners, etc.

•This position will require company collaboration with a wide range of internal and external partners and the ability to positively partner across various businesses and functions to achieve results in a team environment. Key internal partnerships include: internal departments, wholesale accounts, retail stores, industry partners and non-for-profit partners.


Required Experience:
•7-10 years of related experience. Global experience a plus.
•Passion for the fashion industry, sustainability
•Exceptional management skills to handle many areas of work
•Strong agency and client relationship management skills
•Social Media knowledge a necessity
•Extremely well organized with strong attention to detail
•Exceptional interpersonal skills and teamwork
•Ability to manage and operate under tight deadlines
•Ability to manage budgets on multiple projects with multiple vendors
•Strong presentation skills
•Strong decision making and problem solving skills
•Ability to work collaboratively with others and develop consensus within diverse groups
•Knowledge of crisis communications and the ability to respond to issues management that may impact our reputation (both positively or negatively) are essential.
•Exceptional written and verbal communications, presentation, news writing, speech writing, proofreading and editing skills; able to make the complex simple is a must
