Amazon Prime, the subscription service that provides tens of millions of customers across the world with unlimited fast shipping (and in the US, over 40K movies and TV shows) is seeking a sharp, creative and driven copywriter to own our voice.

The Prime team understands the power of words - we care a lot about what we say and how we say it. And we have a great story to tell. Our aim is to speak to Prime members and prospective members in a crisp, clear, and explanatory way without being pedantic or overly verbose.

The copywriter will work with product managers, user experience designers, site merchandisers and public relations to arrive at the right creative that works for Prime members, customers who aren’t yet Prime members, and the press.

The ideal candidate will own all of these things:
  • Our voice box - we (think) we know where we want to go, and need you to get us there.
  • Press releases - we launch a lot of things, and we need someone who can effectively communicate what we do to the world.
  • UI writing - Prime is woven through the Amazon ecosystem: on computers, on phones, on tablets and on gaming consoles. We need someone who understands space limitations and customer context.
  • Short bits of copy - on internal and external ads, Kindle, Facebook, Twitter, etc. They’re everywhere and you’ll be making them great.
  • Text for member benefits - how do you explain to your mom how to borrow a free book on that Kindle you got her for her birthday?

  • 7 years of experience as a copywriter, or similar role with interactive/ad agencies, design studios, production or Internet companies.
