As the Acquisitions Editor for Business you will oversee the existing program with a current annual revenue of over $3 Million and a significant growth trajectory. The Program requires a high energy, driven person to manage and sign 22 books on average a year while also ensuring the management of the backlist. Significant customer facing skills will be required as well as the ability to collaborate to deliver solutions for our customers.

Position located in Hoboken, New Jersey or in San Francisco, California

Requirements:
• Demonstrated ability in acquiring and developing projects and successfully managing a program
• Excellent analytical skills and judgment to identify opportunities and projects with high potential for success
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain industry network
• Financial management skills
• Must be highly motivated and achievement oriented
• Strong leadership skills to successfully negotiate with authors, agents, contributors, etc.
• Self-starter and team player
• Past experience in a fast paced environment
• Effective time management and ability to prioritize
• Ability to influence, without authority
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Minimum of 3 years in editorial area or more experience in other areas of publishing
