HarperCollins Publishers is currently seeking an Associate Director of Online Marketing to provide oversight, guidance, and training related to all things digital to the Harper marketing department and to Harper authors.

Primary Responsibilities:
· Work with marketing directors, VP and senior staff members to help set a strategic path for the imprint’s online and digital marketing.
· Represent Harper imprint to the corporate marketing group in order to continually integrate with and take advantage of corporate initiatives.
· Set and implement digital social strategy (website, social media, e-newsletter, etc.) for specific titles at the request of and in coordination with marketing directors and the VP of marketing.
· Implement marketing strategy for major brands and imprints including Harper Hardcover, HarperBusiness, HarperDesign, Harper Wave, and Amistad.
· Represent Harper in meetings with authors and prospective authors.
· Create top-level online marketing plans for all titles, refine and implement plans in coordination with marketing directors.
· Create online marketing collateral in the form of marketing images (for use on author websites and social media), landing pages (to promote individual titles/authors), excerpts, and videos.
· Work closely with the VP of marketing in overseeing departmental operations and projects.

Secondary responsibilities:
·Build ongoing editorial and marketing relationships with influential third parties.
·Research new marketing opportunities and technologies.
·Represent online marketing in meetings with editorial and in department meetings as necessary.

Required Skills:
- Four to six years marketing experience in publishing or a closely related industry
- Proven ability to communicate complicated information about technology in an accessible and actionable way
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS (some knowledge of PHP and major content management systems a plus)
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign
- Must be very comfortable speaking confidently and accessibly about all things digital to authors, editors, agents, and managers
