Scratch’s Director of Trends & Insights is responsible for identifying, generating and communicating intellectual property pieces that decode the forces shaping culture today, including key cultural trends, consumer behaviors, workforce attitudes and audience insights. These activities are used to support the cultural expertise of Viacom Media Networks and its brands, and to help clients win.

Elements of the work include:
• Trend & Insight Identification and Synthesis: tracking trends and insights on the cutting edge of culture and Millennials; crafting narratives about these trends and insights; overseeing new research activities to serve client needs; spearheading cross-functional teams to produce the story, video, design and experiential elements that express these ideas via presentations, whitepapers and blog posts
• Internal Insight Socializing: sharing Scratch trends & insights across Scratch project teams and more broadly with colleagues across Viacom
• Client Sharing: translating these trends so they are meaningful, relevant and actionable for our clients; presenting in working meetings and designing events and immersion workshops to support ongoing or prospective client relationships

Required qualifications include:
• Drive for transformational, pioneering cultural work
• Proven ability to shepherd projects from start to finish
• Strategic thinker, with excellent written and oral communication skills, including slide presentations and speeches
• Ability to manage relationships and workflow with vendors
• Experience supervising and motivating a team
• Flexibility, initiative, appetite for entrepreneurial environment and appreciation for various corporate cultures
• 8+ years of work experience, preferably in a research, consulting, advertising or consumer-driven organization

Position is available on a full-time, freelance basis.
