Senior Editor, Salt Water Sportsman and MarlinThe successful candidate should have multiple skills relevant to several different media channels across both brands. These include:PrintApplicants must have a minimum of three years writing in the outdoor field, and be well versed in all types of saltwater fishing, both inshore and offshore. This is paramount because the position will require knowledge of everything from flats fishing (SWS), to big-game rigging for billfish (Marlin), and many other subjects in between.The candidate will be expected to generate original content in the form of feature material and photography, and so must be proficient in both writing and outdoor photography. He or she should have a general knowledge of saltwater fishing boats and be capable of performing boat tests for both brands.The senior editor should also possess editing skills, as he or she will be asked to edit copy in the production process, and he or she must have working familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, InCopy, PhotoShop and Bridge.WebA strong Web background is a necessity. Candidates must possess basic Web-editing skills and familiarity with Web-based content management procedures at a minimum, and must be able to generate, organize and maximize the effectiveness of Web content on saltwatersportsman.com and marlinmag.com. This content will include original written content, fishing reports, news items, photo galleries and videos. Video will be a large part of the Bonnier Web strategy moving forward. Video editing skills through iMovie or other programs are highly desirable.OtherSenior editor applicants should also possess strong interpersonal skills, as he or she will be asked to represent one or both brands at media events, boat or trade shows on occasion.
