Rodalenews.com, Fitbie.com, and the Rodale Books Group seek a skilled, hard-working web producer to join our transforming media business. Daily tasks will include uploading content to our sites, coding newsletters, researching and resizing images, and working with the editorial team as needed and possible on articles, social media, and special projects along with additional growth initiatives such as apps and mobile. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with a strong attention to detail and willingness to do whatever is needed to get the job done. An ideal opportunity for a person with a passion for books, health, wellness, an environmental issues. Located in New York.

Responsibilities:

•Uploading articles and slideshows to our CMS; familiarity with Drupal, Wordpress and basic HTML coding a big plus
•Working in Brightcove on Fitbie video
•Optimizing those articles/slideshows for SEO; familiarity with Google Adwords is a big plus
•Researching photos for articles/slideshows using Thinkstock and Compass; ability to search and understand databases or a willingness to learn, as is familiarity with Photoshop
•Writing and building multiple newsletters each week; familiarity with Dreamweaver a big plus
•Taking on some social media responsibilities—Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest—and brainstorming long-term social media strategies for book promotions and other big campaigns we'd like to undertake
•Routinely performing quality assurance checks on website articles
•Producing and preparing content for syndication outlets and newsletters
•Researching, pitching, and writing news stories as needed if time allows
•If needed, manage integration of third party service providers and vendor-produced projects within current architecture and systems
•Liaise with Marketing Designer for deployment of marketing content, campaign and promotion updates
•Maintain up-to-date web standards and best practices
•Liaise and collaborate with back-end developers and Rodale IT department on site enhancements



Qualifications:

•Bachelors degree required in English, journalism, communications, or related field
•2+ years experience with digital media web production
•Fluent in Photoshop, HTML and CSS, with a keen eye for detail in coding design mocks
•Experience working in Drupal, WordPress, and basic HTML. SEO experience a plus
•Exceptional writing, editing, and grammatical skills
•Ability to work with people at many levels
•Creative problem solving skills
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
•Relentless ambition and work ethic
