This position requires a thoughtful, problem-solving personality and the ability to grasp and explain complex concepts. Excellent reading, writing and communication skills are critical. A background or interest in medicine, dietary supplements, or alternative health is a major plus. Liberal arts majors are encouraged to apply. Prior legal experience is unnecessary. We are not looking for licensed lawyers. We will train you to become an expert in several key areas of publishing law including copyright, trademark, free speech, defamation, and parts of FDA and FTC law. Your most important requirement: Submit two analytical writing samples that pose and defend an original argument. College and graduate school research and thesis papers are welcome. Your writing samples should highlight your ability to think critically and work through a complex problem. If selected, you may also be asked to complete a brief exercise in identifying marketing claims prior to an interview.
