We are currently seeking a Marketing Manager who will proactively oversee subscriber acquisition and retention activities, including customer service, for both print and electronic subscriptions. The primary goal is to increase home delivery subscriptions and improve overall profitability. Additional responsibilities are to analyze the subscriber file by acquisition source and track promotions presented through consumer marketing.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Direct Marketing: Manage subscriber communication by mail, e-mail, phone, & many other channels to achieve a profitable subscriber base. - Acquisitions: Identify and recommend optimal acquisition strategies, including identifying new sources of business (e.g., partnerships), for profitability and stability of the subscriber file.- Retention Marketing: Improve retention by tracking, analyzing, and executing changes to the subscriber lifecycle.- Relationship Management: Contact vendors on a regular basis, monitoring their activities and identify areas for improvement.- Forecasting: Develop weekly subscriber reports to be used for predicting sales and expenses.- Customer Service: Analysis of inbound and outbound customer communication.- Billing: Utilize operational systems to confirm accuracy of collections, payments, and credits. - Product Delivery: Track length of start and reasons for non-starting subscription orders.- Promotions: Continually maintain working knowledge of all company products, services, and promotions. Job Requirements and Qualifications:- Minimum four year degree- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in direct marketing and/or a circulation environment- Understanding of various reporting requirements for campaign analysis, including ROI & breakeven analysis- Excellent analytical skills: The ability to explain reporting results and why something is happening is essential- Computing skills: Advanced Excel, Word, & PowerPoint- Communication skills, with both internal and external parties- Customer-centric mindset - actual customer service experience is a plus but not essential- An understanding of circulation reporting (AAM, formerly ABC) and fulfillment systems is a plus- The ideal candidate will be motivated and energized by a challenge and change, not discouragedTo apply, please send resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
