As part of the Web Experience organization, the Web Writer/Editor is responsible for creating and managing content for assigned areas of the Autodesk.com website. Responsibilities include writing and editing original content as well as repurposing existing content. The writer/editor will work closely with content strategy, UI, and optimization and web marketing teams. This position will focus on developing content for AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT product centers, as well as other Autodesk content. Architectural or CAD background useful.This position is a full-time contract starting immediately, through February 2014, with the possibility of extension. Please provide hourly rate in application. Principal duties and responsibilities• Write, edit, and manage content for assigned areas of website • Build subject matter expertise and quickly comprehend and internalize features and benefits of a broad set of offerings • Apply web writing and SEO best practices in the development of content• Engage across teams and functions to locate and procure valuable, relevant content for use in web deliverables• Use consistent Autodesk voice • Work closely with web user experience (UX) experts to align content requirements with interactive design• Build and maintain effective working relationships with web marketing managers, marketing team, and various business partners to ensure a strong pipeline for content resources and approvalsRequirements •4-year college degree, preferably in English, communications, journalism, or a related area•5+ years’ professional experience in web editing and writing•Must be able to provide writing samples upon requestDesired knowledge/skills•Demonstrated proficiency in writing and editing high-quality content specifically for web•Strong understanding of the relationship between web information architecture (IA) and interactive design with content strategy and creation •Familiarity with web publishing tools, including content management systems •Self-starter who is able to move a project forward in a complex, matrixed corporate environment •Experience optimizing content for SEO •Ability to prioritize work, iterate quickly, and manage projects on tight timelines•Ability to interpret analytics and make data-driven decisions and recommendations •Architectural or CAD background usefulThis position is a full-time contract starting immediately, through February 2014, with the possibility of extension.
