Senior Media Manager
The Los Angeles office is seeking a Senior Media Manager for their Nintendo account.The individual is responsible for planning, managing, implementing and measuring ongoing brand and product media strategies and outreach for Nintendo of America. This person is a proactive thinker who develops strategic and creative pitch angles and story ideas, contributes strategic and creative media ideas to plans, has established relationships with consumer tech reporters at top media outlets, including lifestyle press and local LA broadcast, and has a proven track record in delivering quality media results. This person has an excellent understanding of the consumer tech/video game industry, news, media trends, and media opportunities as well as exceptional client service skills. Video game industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.The individual will work in the GolinHarris Los Angeles office and will report to the Media Director of the Nintendo team.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:•Demonstrate a solid understanding of the Nintendo client's business, the video game industry and the competitive landscape. •Lead all of the media relations elements for brand and product launch programs.•Develop long term media plans and strategic media recommendations for Nintendo. •Counsel client on media strategy.•Develop and grow relationships with top national and local media.•Conduct strategic and proactive media outreach resulting in trend, feature, product and brand coverage.•Media train Nintendo executives prior to interviews and tours.•Prep Nintendo executives before interviews including contributing to key message development and positioning.•On-site management of media interviews, media events and meetings.•Develop strategies for media issues and contribute strategic media input for client crises.•Provide input to media materials.•Help manage Nintendo News Bureau.•Generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure media coverage. •Lead the media relations for special public relations events, such as press conferences, trade shows and media tours. •Train, counsel and develop staff in order to ensure quality media results from team in order to meet/exceed client expectations. •Develop metrics for programs, track results and provide detailed media analysis at wrap of program. •Manage the media team intern.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree, 5-7 years related professional experience. Ideal candidates must have experience within a PR agency environment effectively servicing consumer facing client accounts. Experience in the video game industry is preferred but not required. Candidates should take great pride in their work, possess sophisticated client service and PR skills, be willing to travel and be a leader by example.
