Your tasks
The Random House Children's Sales Team is looking for a Manager, Category Management. This person will work closely with Sales, Editorial and Marketing in maximizing divisional profitability. Focus on all Children?s retail channels including traditional book channels, mass merchandise, grocery, drug, and variety chains. This person will be responsible for providing value-added insights, analysis and programs relating Children?s Book Publishing.

Responsibilities Include:
?Identifying strategies for growth, including brand/title recommendations and new product sell-in
?Marketplace trends analysis and consumer research
?Analyzing, strategizing and presenting new business proposals to key decision makers
?Consulting and directing Sales on specific category management practices (such as assortment, price, promotion)
?Interacting with space management and possibly participating in calls with Sales to accounts
?Managing a two-person team

Our requirements
Successful candidates will have a B.A. and a minimum of 3-5 years of sales and/or analytical experience, preferably within publishing or consumer packaged goods. The candidate must be consumer focused, team oriented and exceptionally analytical and strategic. She/he will also have excellent selling and interpersonal skills and a strong interest in children?s book publishing
