IT Project Manager
Cambridge University Press is seeking to engage a skilled project manager to lead and support IT initiatives from our New York office.This role is ideal for the hands-on, lead-from-the-front PM, with provable skills in MS Project, Risk management, project accounting and, above all, in dealing with the leadership and control of multiple work streams and their stakeholders. You will be confident at working with and managing all levels of staff with a flexible approach to work and excellent communication skills. This role involves planning, executing and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. It is also crucial that the post-holder is capable of exercising control over multiple business-centric work streams, and the direct leadership over sub-projects in the technology arena.The post-holder is expected to provide expert leadership in project management disciplines, including Risk and Issue management, project forecasting and progress tracking, finance and project accounting and effort-based project scheduling. The Project Manager will be accountable to the IT Director and Project Management Office for internal schedules to ensure a top level view and to ensure that visibility is maintained at all times of cost, deliverables against milestones and forecast.It will be advantageous for the successful candidate to have considerable knowledge and understanding of SAP technologies and business processes, ideally gained within the publishing field as well as experience with Microsoft Project. The successful candidate will possess 3 years of experience, a relevant university degree, and professional project management qualifications (e.g. PMP).
