Cambridge University Press seeks a Production Editor to join our Academic Production team. The main purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day content production, costs, and schedules from manuscript to final files, ensuring quality of files to be distributed across both digital and print formats. This person will work with editors, authors, full-service packagers, cover designers, text designers, marketing staff, and project managers, ensuring that files for all assigned titles are delivered on schedule and within budget.Candidates should possess at least 1-3 years’ experience in book production. The ability to manage many projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly is essential. Candidates should also have experience with scheduling and buying, negotiation, and relationship and supplier management. The ideal candidate will also have experience with copyediting, as this role will involve the oversight and assessment of copyediting. Familiarity with ePub, XML, SAP, and FileMaker are preferred, as well as editing in Word with Track Changes.
