CREATIVE DIRECTORCreative Services, Marketing & EventsPosition Overview:New York Media is currently seeking a seasoned, hands-on Creative Director to join their in-house Creative Services department. Reporting to the Executive Director, Creative and Marketing Services, the ideal candidate is highly organized, independent, energetic, a team player and has a keen sense of typography and a passion for both traditional print, great web design and emerging technologies. This candidate must be able to manage a fast-paced art department, juggle multiple jobs with tight deadlines, and have the ability to switch seamlessly between print and digital projects.Projects include conception and oversight of the creation of innovative advertising solutions for clients across all platforms including online, mobile and traditional print, the creation of internal sales materials, promotional videos, websites, email blasts, ad campaigns, advertorials, social media and consumer marketing collateral, corporate branding, and event collateral and signage. Other tasks include developing identity systems, logos, websites and related collateral for annual signature events. Additional responsibilities are overall brand maintenance/quality control, creating/maintaining production schedules, as well as managing team of 3 and hiring freelancers & vendors as needed.Qualifications Include:•BFA in Graphic Design or similar degree;•Minimum 8 years experience in a design studio, agency or in-house creative department;•Strong design foundation and understanding of the principles of typography;•Must have a passion for innovative digital design and have a thorough understanding of HTML5, CSS and JS;•Expert-level knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite;•Expert-level knowledge of print production;•Well established contacts within the industry including freelancers, printers, videographers, and photographers;•Must be detail-oriented, independent and well organized with a blend of technical and conceptual skills;•Should thrive in an energetic environment and have the ability to make judgment calls and to respond tactfully in all situations;•Understanding of Flash, After Effects and other motion graphics a major plus;•Experience with Powerpoint and Keynote a plus;•Publishing experience a plus.To apply: Please email your resume and design samples to:email@example.com the subject line “CD – MB”.Include a cover letter and salary requirements.No phone calls, please.
