• Lead overarching strategy in hardlines for Canadian market; poised for strong growth and rapid market share increase
• Develop and implement brand/sales strategy + action plan in short, medium and long term for Toys & Games, Sporting Goods and Food & Beverage categories directly as well as oversee the Coordinator who will manage Consumer Electronics, Stationery/Party Goods, Gift & Novelty, and HBA for the Canadian market to reach objectives as defined
• Lead and manage the achievement of the sales and long-term revenue /profit objectives for the category
• Further develop existing licensee relationships to ensure they are focused on Viacom properties, aligned to property and retail strategies and maximized within key areas of specialty
• Develop new partnerships with licensees with strong category expertise, product development and retail relationships
• Work closely with Toys, Consumer Electronics and HBA International Division in NY to maximize our potential local business for the categories through superior relationships and strategy with licensees and at retail
• Leverage best practices from other territories to execute within Canadian market
• Develop clear presentations and pitch documents and attend retailer meetings to present where appropriate
• Be the category authority for Viacom Canada internally and at retail for the market
• Lead and manage the implementation of the Business/Sales & Marketing plan for the category
• Achieve sales budget objectives as defined together with CP Licensing Director and Viacom, based on the market, retail and category potential
• Manage the quarterly forecasting process including licensee submissions, reporting and analysis of data
• Increase category revenues and performance through the growth of evergreen franchises Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob and new properties, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Winx Club, Bubble Guppies, Peter Rabbit and others
• Work with International Toy division in NY to coordinate multi-Regional/Country Sales efforts, as well as development of local partners
• Manage, monitor and evaluate regularly the activities/performance of licensees by category, particularly top partners
• Monitor market to identify changes which can affect directly or indirectly, positively or negatively Viacom business
• Conduct regular meetings/business reviews with licensees, retailers and master category partners
• Weekly update meetings with the Director, Category Management on category performance, opportunities and challenges
• Travel as required

Basic qualifications:
• 5 plus years proven success in licensing, sales, marketing, retail and/or category management
• Authority and superior knowledge of the Toys & Games, Sporting Goods and Food & Beverage, categories and industry
• Strategic Marketing background
• Excellent written, oral communication and marketing skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Sound financial acumen
• Solid understanding of retail (strategy; OTB; product placement; planograms)
• Entrepreneurial self-starter able to thrive in an unstructured environment
• Be a team player and self-motivated
• Industry and Retail relationships
• Superior negotiation skills
• Licensing experience
• Absolute comfort with key Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word and Excel in particular)
• Project management
• Data Analysis
• Ability to liaise effectively with multiple players and offices
• A Bachelor’s degree in business studies, marketing or brand management.
