The Brand Director, Fitbie & Rodale News is charged with leading and growing web brands focusing on wellness, sustainability, diet, and fitness through a re-development into an integrated media model with multiple streams of income leveraging assets from the Rodale Book group. This position will report to the Publisher of the Book Group and be a key member of the Book Group leadership team. Staffs of the web brands will report to this position.


oOversee all business functions of sites, including product development, audience acquisition and retention, business planning and metrics, and revenue generation
oDevelop healthy integrated media revenue model including direct ecommerce of books, advertising, and new digital products
oDevelop and execute end-to-end consumer marketing strategies using all platforms—site, social media, email, and author platforms
oIdentify new revenue opportunities; work across book group to develop and launch new products and site experiences
oLead the teams for the sites and lead the cultural change necessary to grow these brands


oMinimum 7 years of digital marketing/business development/brand experience
oAbility to build and manage a product roadmap
oExpertise/skills in audience development
oExpertise/skills in social media
oExperience in direct-to-consumer commerce a plus
oProven leadership ability and entrepreneurial drive
oProvide long-range vision and strategic planning for existing brands, vertical strategy, new brands, and structural synergies across brands and the book group
oPersonal interest in wellness and lifestyle content
