The Food Network is seeking a Senior Culinary Producer for our NY office.

The Senior Culinary Producer is responsible for overseeing culinary aspects of competition/reality, in-the-kitchen programming and digital programming. The Senior Culinary Producer works on set for in the kitchen shows and liaises with producers, talent and kitchen staff. Work closely with talent, producers and programming executives. Must also have recipe writing and development skills as well as culinary writing expertise. The Senior Culinary Producer will often oversee large freelance staffs in addition to staff Culinary Producers and must be able to manage people well. The Senior Culinary Producer must be able to train staff to work independently. They must have strong troubleshooting and resolution skills. The Senior Culinary Producer will also be responsible for managing Food Network and Cooking Channel culinary events, which may include events for the New York Wine and Food Festival, South Beach Wine and Food Festival and events in the kitchens and off-site.

List of duties:

- Oversee culinary elements of all productions. This includes shows from “In the Kitchen” block as well as prime time shows and specials with varying degrees of cooking content and digital productions.

- Keep current with FN prod. Execs to determine what shows are greenlit and whether these shows will need culinary production expertise.

- Organize and attend meetings with producers, executives and applicable departments to review recipes, the value of original content, schedule deliverables, help build web content, and establish a good working relationship.

- Work w/talent to develop trusted relationship, teach recipe writing, show formatting.

- Travel to locations to observe shows especially in pilot and beginning episodes. If needed, remain on set to assist producer until a good working culinary system has been achieved.

- Manage logistics of food events for Food Network and Cooking Channel.

- Oversee content for digital packages and recipe testing for digital and publication.

- Oversee the sourcing of tradeouts and equipment for sets and equipment for back kitchen.

Position Requirements:

- Travel is required
- Long periods of standing required
- Potential for very long days
- Strong management skills

- Bachelor’s degree
- Culinary degree

- 5 years of culinary producing
- 1 year of event planning


- Time management – overlapping tape dates, location visits, continual deadlines
- Judgment – representing our Brand with diplomacy and tact to production companies while upholding the importance of content and the look of food shot on set.
- Problem Solving – ability to negotiate difficult matters on set and behind the scenes based on sound knowledge of FN production procedures
- Manage Change Well – Every new production company has a new way of working that is unlike our in house productions. Candidate must be able to plug into variety of work styles and quickly become a vital member of their team.
- Organization and planning skills
- Sound knowledge of culinary – both savory, baking and pastry, and sanitation
- Available to travel
