The Opportunity:
Gallup.com is looking for an editorial leader to create and manage content primarily for digital platforms. News judgment, writing skills, creativity, time management, and organizational skills are critical, along with an ability to improve our digital presence and to implement a broad-based digital strategy. The deputy editor will:
•Generate data-driven story ideas and write news articles and blog posts as needed for Gallup.com
•Edit news articles for Gallup.com
•Oversee Gallup.com editorial operations, including day-to-day management of the site
•Translate and implement the digital strategy for Gallup.com, including overseeing website changes
•Assist with corporate communications initiatives
•Interact with a diverse team of writers, editors, and social scientists
•Prioritize urgent, competing demands; juggle multiple tasks; and follow through on projects to completion

Requirements:
•A strong command of Associated Press style and current editorial practices
•A strong understanding of national and international news developments
•Superior attention to detail and organization
•Along with superb writing and editing skills, this individual will have a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research practices
•The ideal candidate will be proficient in content management systems and Google Analytics
•A bachelor’s degree and journalism experience are required; a master’s degree in journalism or communications is preferred
•Two to three years of editorial experience is preferred
•Must provide recent writing and editing samples
