FSG seeks a highly-motivated and creative Publicity Specialist to join its publicity team. The position is flexible depending on experience but the ideal candidate will have five to 10 years publicity experience, possess excellent writing and organizational skills, be familiar with key print, broadcast and electronic media, and have a successful track record in publicizing both fiction and non-fiction titles. Reporting to the VP/Director of Publicity at FSG, this individual will work closely with marketing and sales efforts to implement successful campaigns while developing and strengthening media and author relationships.
Requirements Major Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute publicity plans on a full list of books, working closely with high-profile authors, other members of the publicity team, the marketing department, and editorial staff
• Create press materials and secure media coverage (broadcast, print, internet)
• Responsible for booking multi-city tours, including speaking engagements and bookstore signings, and media appearances in each tour city

Required Skills / Knowledge:

• Strong relationships with key broadcast, print and electronic media
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently
• Experience with multitasking while working in a fast paced, energetic environment
• Exceptional organizational skills and interpersonal skills
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of social media including Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook, and how these platforms can be used to augment successful book publicity campaigns

Experience Needed:

• Minimum of five years book publicity experience

Educational Background Required:

• Bachelor’s degree
