The NBC News and msnbc Marketing organization is responsible for supporting strategic and multi-platform campaign and promotional activities across a variety of programs on both networks. This group is also responsible for the production, editing, and development of these campaigns and promotional assets leveraging in-house resources and external vendors. The Marketing Project Manager will play an integral role to support the efforts of the Marketing organization to deliver marketing campaigns and promotional support across TV, digital, and other platforms. It is the role of the Project Manager to collaborate with resources across the Marketing organization to deliver campaigns and promotional assets on-time and within budget.

The candidate should be well versed with planning, tracking, monitoring, reporting and proficient with marketing campaign management and promotional development both on-air and digital.

Specific responsibilities include:

Responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project plans and schedules, identifying dependencies and critical paths, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
Manages and tracks requests for marketing support, e.g. requests for promotions, screenshots, interactive/digital assets, video assets, etc.
Communicate project progress, status, issues, and resolutions to key stakeholders and management via verbal and written status reports.
Able to facilitate meetings with large groups and drive the project team to accomplish meeting goals; Facilitate group through complex issues to decisions.
Highly skilled in time management to allow involvement in a variety of projects and initiatives concurrently across multiple functional groups.
Ability to gather requirements from internal and external clients and translate them into actionable plans.
Assemble teams of matrixed resources, including 3rd party vendors, and coordinate their work to meet project schedules.
Identify and champion opportunities to build and leverage project management best practices across the team and implement new and improved processes.
Assist leadership team to develop long-range plans.
Conduct project retrospective and share lessons learnt periodically.
Assess and manage risk over the project lifecycle.
Track project milestones and deliverables.

Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum 4 years project managing in a media/agency capacity
Effective time management, communications, decision-making, presentation, human relations, budget management, scheduling, and organizational skills.
Self-directed and the ability to work independently and manage communications up and down.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project) and Project Management oriented software
Experience shepherding projects through approval process between multiple department
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience in cable or network video, print/digital experience a bonus
PMP certification is a plus
