Desktop Publishing Production Artist
OVERVIEWThis position is part of the Editorial production team that is responsible of the layout and publishing of 13 EIG publications working closely with the editorial staff. This is a fast-paced job with extremely tight deadlines. Requires expert knowledge of layout and workflow procedures, knowledge of editorial practices, have the ability to spot errors and have moderate to advance communication skills. Also participate in map design and occasional marketing collateral.RESPONSIBILITIESWill be responsible for layout, final production, delivery and approval of proofs for EIG newsletters while working quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines. Will take direction from multiple stakeholders and coordinate workflow with the copy editing department. Responsible for creating charts, tables and maps for newsletters as requested. Will be available for production of marketing collateral.You will also be required to carry out any other duties which may reasonably be required of you.SKILLS/EXPERIENCEMust have expert skills in InDesign with real world experience in publishing workflow and be comfortable in a PC environment. Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 5 or higher, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Must have working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word. Have basic HTML/CSS skills.
