Publishing Technology Business Analyst
Responsibilities:•As Product Owner for the RD’s XML content repository, ensure features provide direct value to RD’s bottom line and system value by providing reliable performance and complete and valid data.•Work with offshore development team to utilize Agile development process. •Facilitate collaboration with user base via incubator, joint backlog grooming, joint meetings. Ensure highest priority features are being implemented by direct client feedback and exposing increments to users.•Work with industry organizations to attain technical knowledge to provide standards for XML (PRISM 2.0, PSV, metadata requirements, epub 3, Xhtml, etc), metadata, and exports that support our business goals. •Gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.•Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.•Establish practices and procedures that work towards the continuous improvement of the requirements process.•Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team. •Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.•Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.•Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.Qualifications/Skills:•College degree and 2 years related work experience.•Prior experience or background in publishing or app development.•Experience with the design, development, and implementation of software, systems, or products.•Experience with Agile and Jira a plus.•Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.•Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.•Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.•Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.•Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.•Strong customer service orientation.•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations•Good analytics skills and understanding of technology and how to best apply it to business problems•Ability to develop relationships.
