Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Ad Sales Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation of custom ad sales marketing solutions and promotion plans, with a high-emphasis on sports, designed to create effective marketing solutions for new and existing customers. The individual will be a key liaison for ad sales across programming, with specific focus on partnering and collaboration with account managers, promotions, and program directors. This individual MUST have an in-depth understanding of sports and have a strong working knowledge of sports programming, seasons and leagues. Strong writing skills is a must have.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to create and pitch new program-generated ideas to drive in incremental business
Identify new sales prospects and create ideas to generate awareness of SiriusXM and the related radio programming, especially for sports programming
Support sales on a deal/advertiser/RFP basis:
Project-manage assigned client specific requests for proposals, sales concepts and presentations
Review of Marketing Requests and Consultation with Account Managers:
Have a good understanding of available assets, including on-air elements, online, mobile, custom content development and custom commercial production (live reads and pre-produced spots) and how they can be best leveraged for client solutions. Meet with Account Managers to review client needs and recommendations for custom solution
Develop appropriate concepts, presentations, media plans and proposals to support client specific opportunities ranging from on-air media schedules to multi-element sponsorships and custom marketing solutions
Support sales efforts at client and agency level:
Must understand process, objectives and priorities of top national marketers as well as the role of planning and buying agencies in the sales and marketing process
Support successful implementation of marketing solutions:
Project Manage the implementation process
Interface with sales team members before and during the implementation process to ensure campaign and deal details are clarified and fully vetted.
Project-manage deliverables, timelines, implementation checklists and ongoing status
Interface with clients and coordinate with internal departments (Production, Promotions, Operations, Web Development, Programming, and Legal) during execution of advertising programs as appropriate
Be a strong liaison between traffic, programming and sales department
Encourage communication from programming to alert sales of new opportunities
Strong knowledge of both the Sports and Talk/entertainment platforms. Foster strong relationships with programming directors for each channel
Develop 1-sheets for all upcoming sales opportunities across sports programming – with advance lead time for selling purposes
Partner with sales team to present custom opportunities to ad sales clients – answer all follow-up points and questions
Must understand and work within the process set-up by SiriusXM ad sales
Strong communicator

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent experience
•Minimum 6-8 years work experience in advertising sales marketing department, promotions or integrated marketing ad sales solutions.
•Experience with national brands, national media or advertising agency highly preferred
•Experience with media/marketing promotions
•Track record of involvement in development of marketing programs which drive ad sales revenue

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). PowerPoint a MUST
