POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Editor supports a consumer finance magazine in all capacities related to coordinating, developing, editing, reviewing and designing written magazine content and related online content. The qualities for success in the job include a passion for accuracy and organization, a commitment to clear communication in all aspects of their work, and an enthusiasm for learning and growing professionally. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and managing financial content for a consumer brand, and will be comfortable working in a client-facing environment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or related field

Experience: 2-5 years of experience in journalism, content marketing or corporate communications
Skills:
•Highly organized with the ability to meet overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment
•Accurate and detailed copyediting and fact-checking skills
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office and InDesign version 3 or higher
•Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop
•Knowledge of AP style guidelines

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Specific duties include:
•Works on a print publication that focuses on delivering consumer finance content with an authentic editorial voice.
•Writing articles and producing other written content as needed
•Assigning articles and working with writers to edit and refine copy
•Editing articles for quality, clarity, accuracy and AP style
•Supporting executive editor in all tasks related to coordinating, assigning, receiving, editing, and reviewing magazine content and any related online content
•Overseeing the copy editing and proofing of magazine content by internal and external editors and proofers
•Coordinating with client stakeholders to ensure magazine content reflects and meets desired enterprise goals and standards
•Traveling and participating in client presentations
•Regularly working on-site with the client to ensure alignment and cohesion with client stakeholders
•Assisting in the development of the magazine digital edition
