The Digital Marketing Manager will be an integral part of driving Gannett’s digital subscriber growth across a regional territory of local news sites, with responsibility for managing programs to acquire new digital subscribers and meet revenue and volume goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in subscriber acquisition and/or ecommerce, with experience in media planning and buying across multiple digital marketing channels including SEM, email, social and mobile. S/he will possess strengths in relationship management, innovative thinking, planning & organization and execution. S/he must have a strong sense of urgency and an ability to manage multiple projects at once. The Manager will be a dynamic individual with a passion for keeping up with evolving digital trends and technologies.



Responsibilities

Manage programs across multiple digital channels including SEM, display media, social media, mobile, email and other innovative media channels to drive new subscriber acquisition.
Collaborate with internal sales, editorial, product and technology partners to drive execution.
Partner with local marketing teams across Gannett to implement customized programs in a specified regional territory.
Manage relationships with media agencies and technology vendors.
Continually evaluate evolving trends and technologies and recommend new channels for driving digital subscriber growth.
Work with internal analytics teams and agencies to provide detailed campaign reports and weekly dashboards. Continually optimize marketing programs based on channel performance.
Utilize data as a key means for optimizing media and implementing new tactics.
Collaborate with internal and external creative resources to develop digital creative.


Qualifications

BS/BA required
5+ years of digital marketing experience including media planning and buying, with a proven track record of successfully managing SEM, display media and email campaigns to drive subscriber or traffic acquisition.
Well versed in Google Adwords.
Experience managing social media as a marketing channel.
Experience in mobile media buying with knowledge of the iOS and Android platforms, a plus.
Background in subscriber acquisition or eCommerce a plus.
Experience using market research and data from Google Analytics, Omniture, Comscore and other mobile and/or social media analytics to inform media strategy.
Highly analytical with ability to measure and report results.
Proficient in Excel, with ability to quickly learn new software programs.
Demonstrated success in building strong relationships and managing vendors and agencies.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the aptitude to explain detailed information clearly and concisely.
Strong organizational and planning skills with the capability to manage multiple projects at once.
Strong sense of urgency and an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to be nimble and scrappy.
