This Group Publisher will be responsible for executing the Banking and Payments Markets group’s long-term strategic objectives, vision and goals and ensuring successful execution in order to grow the businesses. Among the seven brands under management, this high profile role includes the stewardship of SourceMedia’s flagship brand, American banker. In addition, the Group Publisher of Banking and Payments Markets will establish a market-leader stature among opinion-leaders in their respective markets. This includes visibility to and relationships with, senior executives among advertising clients, ad agencies, key industry analysts and top executives at key industry trade associations. He/she will be leading the sales and marketing organization and collaborating with digital operations, marketing solutions, editorial, production and circulation. This integral position will be charged with developing new products and revenue streams. The Group Publisher will manage the P&L to ensure achieving both revenue, and profitability goals.

Specifically, the Group Publisher will:

*Play a strategic and tactical role with clients and the sales team to position the Banking and Payment Markets’ brands to grow revenues from digital media, custom marketing solutions including research, print, and advanced lead generation. Continually monitor competitive trends and adjust strategies on an ongoing basis to capitalize on market opportunities;
*Assume P&L responsibility for the Banking and Payments Markets groups. Instill a commitment to revenue growth, sales management, and product development that addresses client needs;
*Provide strong management of the sales team. Develop regular sales training initiatives, establish a strategic, consultative sales approach, and support the company wide commitment to utilizing SalesForce;
*Create a culture of collaboration and innovation. Encourage and reward market-focused innovation and business development initiatives;
*Review the existing organization, processes, revenue patterns, overall product portfolio and customer base to identify weaknesses and identify actionable areas for improvement;
*Identify opportunities for new product development. Determine what line extensions or new products/services can be leveraged to expand the Banking and Payments Markets’ franchises;
*Work effectively with senior management to drive business performance to meet SourceMedia’s shared objectives for revenue growth, digital product development, strategic account development, and internal collaboration;

*Strong leadership capabilities. Demonstrate effective team building and motivational skills;
*Collaborate well with peers to be effective in managing matrixed teams as well as those under his or her direct management. This executive must have the temperament to work effectively within an organizational structure in which many functional areas are shared;
*Strong interpersonal skills, written and spoken communication skills, and presentation abilities;
*Unassailable ethics and a high degree of professionalism in all aspects of conduct
