Are you a registered dietitian and experienced communications professional who can effectively bridge online and offline efforts to tell a cohesive health and wellness story across a variety of channels, stakeholders and audiences? Are you a self-motivated, out-of-the-box thinker who has a skill for creating science-based yet compelling and emotional content to engage audiences – from infographics and stories to blog and social media posts?

National Dairy Council® (NDC), managed by Dairy Management Inc.™ (DMI), is looking for an experienced, digital-savvy writer/editor to help execute National Dairy Council’s content development and digital tactics through its newly-launched on-site newsroom. You’ll be part of a core team that monitors conversations about dairy across social and digital landscapes (blogs, websites, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and produces real-time and planned dairy health and wellness content for our website www.nationaldairycouncil.org and blog.

This role requires a strategic thinker, someone who is an experienced interviewer, writer and editor and is able to roll up their sleeves while still being creative, managing multiple projects. Our ideal candidate works quickly and accurately under deadline, and is constantly looking for new ways and tools to help tell an engaging story to health and wellness professionals, dairy farmers, the dairy industry and consumers.

Responsibilities:
•Support Vice President, Health and Wellness Strategic and Integrated Communications in executing strategic/tactical health and wellness communication efforts and media relations
•Drive execution behind content development for NationalDairyCouncil.org and blog (including interviewing sources, writing blog posts, producing visuals and managing internal contributors, editorial calendars and review process)
•Glean insights from social conversation, search and web traffic data to plan and create compelling content for relevant audiences
•Ensure content is science-based, yet emotional and fresh and adheres to the overall strategic vision
•Bring to life stories to connect health professionals and consumers to agriculture (farm to fork story)
•Foster relationships with third-party influencers (online and offline)
•Work with communicators across the entire organization to identify and implement integration opportunities
•Manage relationships with media partners for content development

Education, Experience and Abilities
•Demonstrated ability with a wide variety of communication tactics including digital communications, media relations/outreach, messaging, storytelling, press releases, etc.
•Strong business acumen coupled with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently
•Flexible approach to work; ability to integrate and problem solve
•4-6 years of experience in health and wellness communications (agency experience a plus)
•Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
•Strong writing and editing skills
•Knowledge of Wordpress, Photoshop and basic HTML code
•Bachelor Degree in nutrition-related field
•Registered dietitian (RD) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration or Master’s level or above nutrition degree a plus.

•Willingness to travel up to 10% of time
