We are looking for an Instructional Designer to join inScience Training, a division of Springer Healthcare, a leading provider of medical educational and training products for the healthcare industry. Located in either our office in New York, NY or Philadelphia, PA, the Instructional Designer will assist in the preparation of content for pharmaceutical sales training activities that include good instructional design, blended-learning concepts and satisfy client needs in terms of quality, commercial focus, clinical relevance, timing and cost. Specific responsibilities include:
?Support the creation of content for a range of training and educational platforms, according to client needs, deadline, budget and internal quality standards
?Create eLearning scripts, storyboards, and PPT slides (WBT/CBT and classroom training) using solid instructional design methodology and adult learning theory
?Perform all phases of instructional design including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation
?Drive content presentation and interactivity decisions and assess content design approaches based on project requirements and technical specifications
?Develop exercises and progress checks that maximize learner understanding of content and assess grasp of content, while reinforcing stated learning objectives
?Communicate with clients to understand their content presentation and delivery requirements and take initiative to clarify issues
?Work with medical writers both internally and free-lance to write content that meets training objectives
?Work closely with commercial services team members, medical writers, and developers to ensure content is delivered on time and within specified parameters
?Spec and oversee development of new template types, including exercises and screen types
?Advise Scientific Services Director and Editorial Manager about resource requirements
?Provide instructional design expertise to Business Development in the development of new business pitches and proposals
?Provide quotes for costing purposes
?Contribute to revenue targets by ensuring that projects are progressed as soon as possible after confirmation
?Monitor own adherence to budget and utilization rate
?Record and monitor actual time spent on a project against budgeted time, and complete timesheets in an accurate and timely manner.
?Support team working principles within the business unit, account team and other departments and collaboration between business units by attending team and editorial meetings
?Help identify and implement new processes that can improve quality and efficiency
?Traveling to clients on an ad hoc basis (up to 10?15% of total work time)
?Any other duties as required by your manager
?Bachelor's degree required
?Bachelor?s or Graduate Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field preferred
?Minimum of 3 years? professional experience in Instructional Design required
?Experience in pharmaceutical training or healthcare industry required
?Ideal candidate will have experience with medical communications or sales training in a pharmaceutical company
