Lonely Planet is currently seeking a Content Producer to join the Business Development team based in our Franklin, Tennessee office. This role is offered as a full-time permanent position reporting to the Lead Content Producer.

The Content Producer is responsible for producing specialised client-focussed editorial content for projects and products emanating from Business Development Delivery. The position involves sourcing, writing and editing new content, preparing existing Lonely Planet content for reuse, while maintaining the integrity of Lonely Planet’s (LP) content assets. Other responsibilities include commissioning authors and managing freelancer resources and leading content projects through all stages of the content production cycle, liaising with other project stakeholders as necessary.

To be successful in this role you will need to have proven editorial skills, including experience writing commercial/marketing copy, and be able to write for digital media audiences. This role is best suited to a commercially minded and astute person, who has a business-oriented outlook and team-based approach. You will also need to be a strong communicator, with previous experience working in cross-functional project teams and meeting team-based project outcomes. Proficiency in MS Office applications and web browsers is essential.

Sound planning and organisational skills will set you apart, as will the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and to adapt to changing and competing priorities, while maintaining high attention to detail. In addition, familiarity with digital interactive media industry concepts, practices and procedures will be looked upon favourably.
