Content Manager, Money
About.com is seeking a Content Manager to help us take our Money vertical to the next level. We are looking for a digitally-savvy money and finance enthusiast who is eager to drive the ongoing evolution and growth of this channel. As a part of our spirited and collaborative team, the Content Manager will work directly with the GM to improve editorial content and user experience to ultimately grow traffic, audience, and interactions within our community. We are building a fun, spirited team that will create amazing digital products! Responsibilities: Work with General Manager to help shape and define editorial strategy, increase audience, and drive user engagement. Identify new opportunities for the vertical including editorial gaps, tools, content partnerships, and new writers. Track competitive landscape to identify future trends and opportunities within the Money/Finance space. Work with cross-functional teams to drive SEO and Social strategies forward. Experiment with new ways to leverage social media tools, staying on top of current trends and applying that knowledge as appropriate to deepen user interaction and drive traffic. Apply data to inform decisions around content, social, and SEO strategies. Promote our top content via newsletters, on-site promotion, social media, and content partnerships. Be the first line of communication between About.com and the Money writers. Act as a public face of the channel, attending trade shows and events, doing PR, supporting sales and marketing, and more. Qualifications: Proactive, flexible team player with a sense of humor and a good attitude, able to roll with the punches and change direction as necessary. Bachelor's Degree from a top tier school required. 3-5 years experience developing online Money/Finance content and working with content management systems. Experience using data to inform and develop content strategy to enhance the overall user experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts in simple language via email, online documentation, webinars, phone calls. Well-versed in current web trends and concepts, including current SEO and social media best practices and tools. Consistently up to date with industry trends related to Money & Finance content; able to identify topics of interest to a wide audience. Detail oriented and deadline focused with solid proofing skills, as well as a deep understanding of what works on the web. Strong copywriter, capable of writing engaging, lively headlines and blurbs. Ability and willingness to be an active contributor in departmental and planning meetings.
