We currently have an exciting opportunity for a User Interface (UI) Developer to join the Business Development team based in our office in Franklin, Tennessee. Reporting to the Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, intuitive, consistent and elegant design solutions across Lonely Planet’s products including websites, web apps, social applications, mobile apps and print products.

Lonely Planet currently has offices across the globe and is growing a team of highly motivated talent in Franklin. We are looking for people with a variety of skills and experience. The Business Development team is B2B focused and sits alongside the core product teams, with a focus on working with other brands and exploring new product and technology solutions. The team also services other areas of the business (eg. To be successful in this role you will have proven user interface design experience in an interactive media environment, with a solid understanding of user-centred design.

The right person:
?knows CS6 inside and out
?can develop highly intuitive usable interfaces within tight timelines
?experience creating responsive design
?will be an advocate for user-centered design will have a strong opinion of current design trends
?loves the challenge of creating products that solves travellers problems
?will have a passion for the details and a love of beautiful, effective design solutions

Familiarity with any of the following would also be a big plus:
?Basic HTML & CSS knowledge
?Print production - brochures, books, marketing material etc
?Experience in industrial or product design
?Strong conceptual design ability and be comfortable responding to open briefs
?Experience with user testing & wireframing

The successful candidate will be have experience working with a cross-functional team including Project Managers, Content Producers and Developers and relish the opportunity to take a pitch or concept from a basic idea to mock-up and work with our team of developers to execute and evolve project ideas. The UI/UX designer will also be well adept at managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
