ittle, Brown, and Company is seeking a marketing professional to accelerate the sales and reputation of the fastest-growing author in the children’s book market, James Patterson. (Also the #1 bestselling author in the wider book market.
This person will oversee and coordinate all young reader promotional efforts and work in conjunction with the Little, Brown Young Readers team, the adult team (whose books are published through Little, Brown & Co. and Grand Central Publishing), and the Hachette sales force. The position will also involve direct work with the author and coordination with persons assisting his philanthropic initiatives for books, reading and education.

Primary duties will include the creation, execution, and analysis of marketing campaigns for both frontlist and backlist young reader titles. The Marketing Manager should have a strong foundation in basic trade and consumer marketing (in traditional media, online, and in the physical world), plus the ability to think strategically.

• Managing and executing all marketing activities related to Patterson Little, Brown Young Readers publishing, maximizing support for each launch in all formats (hardcover, trade paperback, mass market)
• Consult and work closely with all departments within Little, Brown Young Readers (editorial, marketing, publicity, online, school and library marketing).
• Work closely with the Patterson adult audience team and establish and conduct monthly meetings,
• Provide regular updates/progress reports to the author and internal teams.
• Manage budget, provide quarterly updates on spending, and work closely with sales to monitor coop expenses.
• Work with Editors on strategic vision for properties, including multimedia and new technology licensing and distribution.
• Plan for long-range growth through innovative thinking and appropriate analytics.
