BPC seeks an energetic and proactive individual as a full-time BPC Outreach Coordinator in the Department of Communications. This position will be responsible for helping to develop, design, implement and manage outreach activities for BPC’s grassroots projects including BPC’s Citizens for Political Reform, Running Mates USA, Agenda for Generational Equity (AGE), and BPC’s partnership with Common Sense Action (CSA), a bipartisan youth organization. The position will work collaboratively with BPC staff to help develop projects’ content, plan events, coordinate logistics, identify strategic partnerships, assist with creating and executing social media strategies and help manage CSA college chapters and organize nationwide college competitions. The position reports to the Senior Advisor in the Communications Department.

Responsibilities

•Work with BPC staff on developing content and potential partnerships, building national grassroots movements and handling outreach activities for Citizens for Political Reform, Running Mates USA, and the Agenda for Generational Equity (AGE).

•Serve as a liaison between the BPC and Common Sense Action’s college chapters including coordinating budgets, fundraising efforts, and managing chapters’ senior advisors relationships.

•Assist with overseeing Common Sense Action’s college chapters including: running weekly calls with BPC and CSA leadership team, handling four weekly calls with college chapters, and initiating weekly outreach calls to chapter leaders to track progress and troubleshoot.

•Assist with managing Common Sense Action college campus Spring competition including: structuring competition, tracking progress and metrics, identifying and developing prizes and incentives.

•Plan and oversee the National Summit for AGE/Common Sense Action in Washington, DC January 2014 including: research, agenda, speakers and logistics for summit.

•Coordinate activities for Citizens for Political Reform including: strategizing ideas, writing and editing copy for BPC’s monthly Citizens for Political Reform Newsletter; writing blogs on relevant issues; and developing content for website and social media channels. Work with staff to execute national activities to engage the American public.

•Coordinate activities for Running Mates USA DC including: developing web site content and social media ideas, and executing large scale running event in Spring 2014.

•Work with Senior Communications Advisor on press strategy and outreach efforts for Citizens, Running Mates USA and AGE/CSA through social media channels and mainstream media.


Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree
•Minimum of two years of relevant experience in grassroots outreach, team leadership and campaign work
•Strong organizational, managerial, and interpersonal skills
•Ability to be proactive, multi-task and handle many project deadlines at once
•Strong written and oral communications, including giving presentations
•Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
•Experience working on policy or cause-related issues
•Proven social media success
•Experience using database software a plus
