We currently have an exciting opportunity for a User Interface (UI) Developer to join the Business Development team based in Nashville, TN. Reporting to the Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for building high quality websites, web apps and social media applications.

Lonely Planet currently has offices across the globe and is growing a team of highly motivated talent in Franklin. We are looking for people with a variety of skills and experience. The Business Development team is B2B focused and sits alongside the core product teams, with a focus on working with other brands and exploring new product and technology solutions. The team also services other areas of the business (eg Marketing) and is responsible for coming up with innovative campaigns and products. Our ideal candidate will have proven end-to-end user interface development experience in an interactive media design environment, with a solid understanding of mobile-first responsive design, SEO principles and social media campaigns. You will have good attention to detail and knowledge of best practices when it comes to web standards, accessibility guidelines, interactive design and usability.

The right person for this role:
?will have mastered HTML & CSS
?is a JS ninja and writes beautiful, maintainable code
?understands the constraints, advantages and disadvantages of cross browser support
?needs to understand technology problems as part of a broader product vision
?has a passion for travel and interest in building systems that connect travelers with content and each other

Familiarity with any of the following will be a big plus:
?SASS & Compass
?Facebook & OpenGraph API’s
?Knockout.JS (or other JS frameworks)
?Agile development methodologies
?Git (and working with GitHub)

The successful candidate will be comfortable taking a website or app design from mockup to completion. They will be an independent self-starter who has strong ideas on the future of web technology and feel comfortable contributing to all stages of the project lifecycle, from ideation to execution.

To be successful in this role, you will need strong communication skills as well as previous experience working in cross-functional project teams. You will also have the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical project stakeholders (eg product managers, user experience designers, back-end developers, testers). You will need to be extremely organised in order to juggle multiple projects/tasks and changing priorities as they arise, while maintaining high attention to detail.
