Strategic Marketing Director
Strategic Marketing Director, USA TODAY and USA WEEKEND The Marketing Director will develop and execute strategies that will build, engage and retain audience across all platforms for USA TODAY and USA WEEKEND. He/she will oversee all digital and social media aspects of marketing. The position reports into the VP, Marketing and is based at Gannett Headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Responsibilities:Develop the customer knowledge, customer acquisition, customer relationship management and multiplatform promotional strategies that build top-line growth for USA TODAY. Guide the tactical elements required to execute these strategies, develop plans and present to management for approval and funding. Lead mobile/tablet/emerging platform promotional strategies, working closely with product managers, analyst and other functional areas. Lead social media strategy to increase USA TODAY’s audience and engagement across social media platforms. Drive search efforts across all digital platforms of USA TODAY to increase traffic and awareness. Build knowledge of digital marketing landscape and drive continued learning across the organization. Candidate Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required with 15 years prior experience in Marketing. At least 5 years of managerial experience. Must be a creative problem-solver with strong organizations skills. Expertise and demonstrated success with campaign management, search engine marketing, search engine optimization, social media and digital marketing. Highly analytical and quantitative, with excellent business acumen. Strong relationship and consensus building skills to work across all platforms and departments. Must be experienced developing strong marketing programs, creative strategy, creative briefs and successfully leading teams toward define goals. Results orientation. Positive, can-do attitude and entrepreneurial approach.
