The ANA (Association of National Advertisers), the leading organization for client-side marketers, is seeking a full-time Public Relations and Communications Specialist to join its N.Y.-based marketing and communications team. This individual will be responsible for directing day-to-day PR activities, including inbound and outbound media relations (broadcast, digital, and print), the development and distribution of media releases, byline articles, blog posts, speeches, and other communications designed to build awareness of the ANA and effectively communicate its message to the marketing community and beyond.

The individual must have strong writing skills — honed in an agency, corporate marketing group, or as a journalist — and the ability to create compelling short and long-form copy. He/she must inspire the media to have ANA on speed-dial for insights into marketing and marketing industry leadership.
To thrive, this individual must be able to multitask, work under tight deadlines, and partner and build cross-organizational relationships while executing flawlessly. Other responsibilities include building and maintaining functionally relevant success metrics; serve as a brand advocate; utilize, communicate, and coach PR best practices; and help drive the brand by growing ANA’s awareness.
This newest team member must also be comfortable working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
The individual will be part of a dynamic and growing marketing group, and will work closely with ANA business line managers and staff to communicate ANA’s industry leadership and broad portfolio of products and services.

•Produce crisp, well written, and compelling press releases
•Maintain strong media contacts/relations
•Contribute to the enhancement of the brand image and message
•Build and maintain metrics related to PR and its contribution to the growth of ANA products and services
•Work effectively and cooperatively with various ANA business lines to uncover and exploit PR opportunities
•Contribute to the ANA vision

•Five-plus years of experience in an agency, marketing organization, or as a journalist

•BA in journalism, communications, or related field required. Current PR practitioner is highly desired. Previous PR or journalism experience a must.
