Junior Designer, Brand Environments
The New York office of Landor Associates is looking for a Jr. Designer for our Brand Environments team. Landor’s Brand Environments (BE) practice expresses a brand’s essence by transforming retail and corporate environments, exhibit and museum sites, aircraft interiors, signing systems and themed environments. Our solutions not only translate branding messages into three-dimensional forms and spaces, but also produce memorable sensory experiences. In addition to an understanding of the brand design, the BE Designer must also have an in-depth knowledge of design for the built environment in order to develop exciting branded spaces for various consumer and corporate brands across a variety of industries.Key Responsibilities:•Deliver 3D design strategy and design system development taking into account resources, process, schedules, and budget requirements•Ensure creative excellence •Explore and conceptualize design alternatives•Develop prototypes and models •Participate in critiques •Participate the selection and refinement of the final design solution•Plan and schedule projects allowing for maximum utilization of internal and external resources•Coordinate with freelance and vendor resources•Contribute to presentations, pitches and proposals Required Skills and Knowledge:•Knowledge of retail, hospitality and corporate workspace environments projects, including relevance of strategic and creative intent•Architecture, Product Design or Industrial Design experience •Working knowledge of commercial grade materials, finishes, lighting and technology•Ability to hand draft and sketch in elevation and perspective view•3D modeling and AutoCAD experience•Strong presentation skills•Proven ability to work with others Experience Needed:The ideal candidate will hold A Bachelor’s degree in Product or Environmental Design or related discipline and have up to 2-3 years of previous interior design or product design experience with a focus on commercial, retail, and/or hospitality design. Additionally, the candidate must have expert level skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, SketchUp, or other modeling software. Local candidates preferred. EEO employer.
