Senior Editor, SLJ Reviews
Responsibilities:-Assign and edit reviews, for each print issue of the magazine, envision and edit columns. -Assist in the production of print magazine, newsletters, both print and electronic, as well as other web content.-Keep current with children’s and young adult book trends and library market news. -Contribute a strong voice and experienced viewpoint to the evaluation of materials produced for children and young adults. -Represent SLJ at live and virtual events such as webcasts and conferences.-Contribute to SLJ’s web and social media presence. Requirements:-Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or other relevant humanities. MLS or MLIS a plus. -Five-plus years’ experience as a copy editor or production editor.-Knowledge about children’s and young adult literature. -Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. -Willingness to work collaboratively. -Competency in InCopy, Wordpress, e-newsletter deployment platforms, and cloud-based applications.Interest applicants should forward cover letter with salary requirements, résumé, and a writing sample (including news, reviews and/or featured articles) to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to 614-873-7620.EOE / E-Verify member.
